Bafarad was born from a love of design, a raw passion for sketching shoes that began in the pages of a notebook. While other kids were focused on shirts or jeans, Ebrima was fascinated by footwear. To him, shoes were more than just accessories; they were architectural, expressive, and complex. Each design held infinite possibilities.
His early inspiration came from visionaries like Kanye West and Virgil Abloh. Watching Kanye build Yeezy and seeing Virgil take Pyrex to Off-White wasn’t just motivational, it was personal. Virgil’s own West African heritage and roots resonated deeply with Ebima, who is from The Gambia. They proved that imagination and determination could transform culture.
Nothing but belief and a willingness to go for the dream.
That’s how Bafarad was born.
